Sybarite5 wins the 2011 Concert Artist Guild Competition!

Hello friends! It is a happy time here in Sybarite world. After hours upon hours of intense preparation, rehearsals, and concerts over the past several months, we are beyond thrilled to announce that we have won the 2011 Concert Artists Guild Competition! This means that we have been added to CAG’s roster and we are now under management with them. We are honored to be in the company of some incredible musicians and ensembles, and also offer our deepest congratulations to this year’s fellow winners, the Amphion String Quartet and mezzo-soprano Naomi O’Connell! In addition to winning the competition, we were also awarded the Sylvia Ann Hewlett “Adventurous Artist Prize.”

Gaga, Kanye, Lincoln Center, and the Western Frontier

June brought us to Lincoln Center, Lady Gaga, Kanye West & more

We were invited to bring The Shuffle Effect to the newly-renovated David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center on June 2. The show was pretty well attended… actually there was a line around the block and many people were turned away! Probably thanks to Time Out NY choosing our show as one of the top 5 “critic’s picks” for concerts in NYC. This Shuffle Effect concert was a fun show for us, especially since it included the New York premiere of Radiohead’s “Weird Fishes” arranged by the amazing Paul Sanho Kim. It was a wonderful way to…

Sybarite5 debuts at #11 on the Billboard charts

Hello, S5 fans (and accidental visitors)! We’ve got some very, very exciting news to share with all of you. Our new album, Disturb the Silence, is debuting this week at #11 on the Billboard Charts! This is a first for us, and we are thrilled to have made a recording that so many people are listening to.
