2011-12 its a wrap!
The 2011-2012 Season is coming to a close for Sybarite5, and we are looking forward to a packed summer and fall! It has been an incredible year for us: We were winners of the Concert Artists Guild Competition and started work with a wonderful new management team. We staged a three-concert New York residency at the cell, incorporating video into our programming for the first time. We gave several world premieres, including a piece written for us by the formidable young composer Mohammed Fairouz. We communicated with and performed for thousands of students through outreach activities all over the country; in New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Massachusetts and more. We collaborated with a 100-piece chorus for the first time, bringing a new dimension to the Radiohead Remixed project. We were heard a bunch on the radio, broadcast nationally on Performance Today. And, to boot, our bassist and founder Louis Levitt became a father for the first time! As we look ahead to the summer, we will continue our work as the official Alumni Ensemble at the Aspen Music Festival and School, make our first international appearance at the Tuckamore Festival in Newfoundland, Canada, appear at the Chautauqua Music Festival in upstate New York and on the Chatter series in Albuquerque, NM. All of these appearances will happen concurrently with our ongoing recording project, Radiohead Remixed, set for release in the near future. And of course, if you live in New York (or even if you don't), please do NOT miss our Carnegie Hall debut at Zankel Hall on November 13! This will be the event of our season and we need the support of all our fans near and far! We will send an update when tickets become available for purchase.
As always you can keep up to date with us, view the full fall lineup of concerts, and (a newly-added feature) see our setlists directly following our concerts at our website, and of course connect with us on Facebook to see updates and pictures of our adventures as they happen.
