Hello from Tucson, Arizona!
We're here performing at the University of Arizona and enjoying a bit of warmth and sunshine! This past month has been one of the most memorable that Sybarite5 has experienced. We gave our Carnegie Hall debut at Zankel Hall on November 13th, and are thrilled to report that it was a huge success! We had a packed house, gave four world premieres by four different composers who were all there with us, and got the audience on their feet several times. We extend a huge thanks to all of you, our fans, for supporting us along the way, and for those who traveled from near and far to be with us that night. We could not have done it without you!
November 13 also marked the physical release of our brand new CD, Everything in its Right Place, on CAG Records. Several years in the making, the album is the culmination of our Radiohead Remixed Project and features arrangements we've commissioned of our favorite Radiohead songs. One of the tracks even features the first-ever arrangement collectively done by the five of us! With the holidays right around the corner, please consider downloading or ordering a copy of the new CD today here. We're signing the first 200 CD's we sell, so your promptness will be rewarded!
The past month of travels took us to Sun Valley, ID and Stillwater, OK, the former for a weeklong residency that got stretched to a week and a half when we got stranded there due to hurricane Sandy! We are so grateful to the wonderful folks at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts and Sun Valley Summer Symphony for taking care of us during our unexpected extended stay!
Next on the horizon, we are pleased to announce that we have been selected for the YPCA seminar, a career-development program taking place as part of the APAP conference in January. Among the many wonderful things about this opportunity is the fact that we will return to Carnegie Hall for a showcase at Weill Recital Hall on January 14 at 5:30pm! We'll be back soon with more updates on exciting Sybarite goings-on coming up in 2013!
Until then, please accept our very best wishes for a happy holiday season,
Angela, Laura, Louis, Sami & Sarah Sybarite5
