In partnership with the acclaimed new music ensemble Sybarite5 the American Composers Forum announces the 2016 American Composers Forum National Composition Contest!

Competition Details and Schedule:
- Entries must be submitted electronically via the link below on or before 11:59pm (Central) on December 20, 2015.

- Entries submitted by mail or means other than electronically will not be eligible for consideration.
- The names of the winning composers will be announced by March 1, 2016.
- Each will receive a $3,500 commission to write a piece 4-to-6 minutes in length, scored for the instrumentation unique to Sybarite5 (string quintet).
- The piece must be acoustic-only and must utilize the full ensemble (i.e., no trios, quartets, etc.);
- Score and parts will be due on or before July 15, 2016;
- Scores/parts created with music notation software are encouraged (no handwritten materials are acceptable);
- Pieces using graphic notation are acceptable.
- The Sybarite5 workshop and public performance (which will be recorded for archival purposes) will take place in Fall, 2016. NOTE: participation in the workshop/ performance is mandatory for the three composers.
